Distribution of orangutans in northern Sumatra, according to the LIF and SOCP (2005)


found in 7 regions, namely West-Leuser Aceh and West-Middle Block with a population of 2,611, Trumon-Singkil (1500), East Leuser Aceh and East-Middle Block (1.389 ), Nort-West and North-East Aceh Aceh (834), West Batang Toru (400), Tripa Swamp (280), East Sarulla (150), and Sidiangkat (134). Orangutan population distribution maps are presented in the following figure.
